Nailpolish collection: OPI

Only since a little more than a  year ago I started to actively use nailpolish. I had some nailpolish before, but hardly ever used it or just used transparent nailpolish. I never really used any colours. But with buying my first OPI nail polish that absolutely changed. Let me show you the colours I've collected by now of this gorgeous brand.

BAFTA's 2013

The BAFTA's 2013 were awarded last night, and it just deserved a blog. I had hoped to see a few more movies actually of the BAFTA's nominees, but hardly succeeded due to not enough time or simply because the movies aren't shown here in the theaters yet. I'm desperate to see 'Silver Linings Playbook', 'Life of Pi' and 'Anna Karenina'. The first one is still not out here in cinema, the latter two are, but unfortunately I still haven't seen them (Anyone in for movies any time soon?). And now that I know that all three actually won BAFTA's, I want to see them even more desperately. I did see 'Les Misérables' (Review here) though, and I have to say the awards are more than deserved!

Besides the actual awards, I always love to browse through pictures of arrivals afterwards to have a look at all the dresses that were worn for the show. Show let's talk fashion, shall we? Here are a few of my favourites. Any personal favorites of any of you?

My love for TV/Movie related jewelry

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to TV-series/movies, admitted, nothing wrong with that right? And with that love for series and movies comes a love for merchandise of it. I'm not a fan of the screaming t-shirts (well as a sleeping shirt maybe yes) and the like, more the subtle things of which I know what it is and those who know the show/movie will know it as well, but it won't be screaming to the rest of the world: look what I love! There is nothing wrong with people that do love it, don't get me wrong, it is just not my kind of thing.

As the title of this post already betrayed, I do love jewelry that has something to do with TV-series or movies that I love, so here is the blogpost of me showing you guys the (still a little small) collection. (Sorry for the photos, I'm not good with making photos when I only have artificial light)

Those things you get to know because of celebrities: Part #1

Some of you might know by know - or have always known - that I can be quite of a fangirl regarding TV-series/movies or just celebrities in general. Besides just looking at what acting projects they have going on, for some celebrities I love to follow what other projects they keep themselves busy with, like charities they help out/set up, promotional work they do for brands or setting up their own perfume/jewelry lines for example. I've decided to do some blogs now and then to some projects that I personally really like or feel inspired by and that I think are worth sharing with all of you!

Show me your mumu
It could be worn by all—big and small, short and tall—and could be a dress, a top, a tunic, or…anything I suppose. It could come in jersey, polyester—or silk chiffon. It could come in floral, paisley—or black spider print. Holiday theme mumu, lace mumu, sequin mumu, fringe on your mumu…the possibilities seemed truly endless. Thus, they set out in search of the perfect fit—the ideal body—which only, ultimately, they could find by creating it themselves. The spelling mistake was intentional—they were, after all, reinventing the mu’u mu’u and therefore dubbed it “The Mumu” instead.

Show Me Your Mumu  is a brand for both clothing and jewelry. The video, that can be seen below, is what initially made me aware of the brand. Candice Accola, who is also featured in the photoshoots for the brand, tweeted the video and after watching it, it felt like such a nice and fun brand that I decided to have a look at the website.

I have to admit the clothing style isn't really something I would wear myself, but I love how different it is from many other brands. It really has a style on its own. The same goes for the jewelry pieces they have. I adore their Gem Rings, but they have many other great pieces as well.

Did any of you know the brand? What do you think about their collections, anything you would like to buy?

Glimmer Glamour Fashion

As promised, a fashion blog on what I've worn during Christmas. I have to admit that most of the time I wear a dress for Christmas dinner, but the only suitable dress I had left for it, was the dress I wore the last two years as well and basically I didn't feel like wearing it another year. I went into town the saturday before Christmas, highly last minute I know, to see if I could find anything nice. I found a lot of cute dresses but nothing that would fit within the budget I had for the rest of the month, and that wasn't a lot.

I did end up buying a new jacket and paillette top to go with it. Both were in sale and highly discounted so that was great as well. Oh and a nice fact is that the zipper un the back actually opens up! I combined it with simple jeans and black heels I already had. To add a bit of glamour to it all I bought some new nailpolish that went well with it: gold metal rush and a glitter nailpolish both from Miss Sporty, cheap but oh so nice! Just don't ask about taking the nail polish off again, that was horrible.
P.S. I changed the lay-out of the blog as I didn't really like the previous one, but I'm still not really satisfied with this one either, so any suggestions let me know!

The fashion touch to my room!

I do like fashion and actually, I like it a lot, though my wardrobe won't be the most fashionable on the planet, by far. That doesn't mean, however, that it doesn't play a role in my life. I love to skip through fashion magazines, see the latest trends and to have a look at all those clothes I will never ever afford to by. But besides that I really do like magazine ads, a little weird maybe?

As you can see in the pictures above I took a few fashion ads from magazines that I liked a lot and put them on my magnetic board in my room. For me it is a nice way to change the look of that wall now and then and I just really like the vibe that fashion ads show.

Fashion: Chique Summer Evening Look

I've wanted to write fashion blog for ages (as the pictures are from almost a month back), but I kept forgetting about, so here it finally is.

The look is from my parents anniversary dinner party, which was in August on a quite hot day, so the look turned out quite well. I bought the white dress when I was in London, it is from the brand 'Apricot'. The under layer of the dress is a kind of beige, which sets off the whiteness of the dress a little. I combined it with off-white heels that I actually got from a friend as she didn't want them anymore. To make it a little more special than just the white/brownish colours, I painted my toe- and finger nails a bright red and wore a golden cuff with it.

What do you guys think, repeater or not?

Fashion: Emma Watson @ Jimmy Fallon

I think this is my first fashion inspired post, hopefully more to come. Fashion doesn't play the biggest role in my life as I like to wear what I like and not necessarily what is the latest trend, though I love to flip through fashion magazine and to have a peek into the designers certain celebs wear.

On the photo you see Emma Watson at the Late Night Show of Jimmy Fallon. She was wearing a dress by designer J. Mendel. I absolutely love the model of the dress and the flower print. It is a quite simple dress, though it still stands out because of the colours used.
It probably isn't a dress that I would wear very quickly myself, mostly because of the figure of the dress, though if I could wear it I most certainly would buy it (if it wouldn't be a designer dress and therefore not ridiciously expensive). What do you guys think of the look? Would you like to wear it yourself, yes no?

p.s. Finally found out how to mega tag the posts, so it is easier to browse through the posts if you are intrested in a certain subject
