Insurgence Germany

Click to enlarge // Photo credit: Annelie
For those who are quite done with me rambling about The Vampire Diaries, this is your time to run away ;) Like I mentioned before, last weekend I have spend the weekend in Germany with my two friend Yasmine and Annelie to visit 'Insurgence Germany' a Vampire Diaries conventions. As you can see above the guests were (from left to right) Sebastian Roché (aka Mikael Mikaelson), Nathaniel Buzolic (aka Kol Mikaelson), Matt Davis (aka Alaric Saltzman), Candice Accola (aka Caroline Forbes), Michael Trevino (aka Tyler Lockwood) and Kat Graham (aka Bonnie Bennet).

One way or the other I'm going to try and not write everything down here what I've written in my little notebook, because then I'm probably still writing by the time it's midnight. Anyway if anyone still has any questions or anything afterwards, sound off in the comments and I would love to tell you more. Also if you want to do me a favour and would love to see such a convention again in Germany, do please like like this page to show the organisation we are definately game for another one!

I was fairly busy beforehand, so when it was finally friday it hit me that I was leaving for Germany that day. I had a class in the morning and would catch the bus to Aachen straight after. Several busses, trains and 8 hours later I arrived in Bad Wildungen where the convention was held. Besides eating and catching up with Yasmine and Annelie, I didn't do much. There was a party that evening, but we were scattered from travelling and decided to call it a day early on.

Autograph Adventures

I've been planning to do this post for a long time already, but now it is finally here. A post where I show you guys my dear autographs that I've collected over the last few years from celebrities. I've collected them all in personal, which makes them so much more special for myself. The craziness started in 2011 when I visited my first premiere and first convention. (If you click on the pictures they'll enlarge. They are all photos from photos so some of the quality might have gone lost.)
My very first celebrity autograph and from no-one less than Helena Bonham-Carter. I got my notebook signed during the final London premiere of Harry Potter. I slept at Trafalgar Square for one night with friends in order to actually have a spot alongside the red carpet. We got pretty close to it, but me and a few friends stayed back at the fountains instead of mingeling amongst all the pushing people at 5 o'clock in the morning. I know a few people who actually managed to get about 10 autographs, but that wasn't worth it for me as I actually wanted to enjoy everything as well and we had an amazing view from where we stood.

Favourite Fanvideos: He is gone

As I watch a lot of fanvideos on Youtube all of the time, I thought it would be nice to now and then share some of my favourites with you guys. I have to warn you it has a major spoiler in there for Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries. Yes, I know again The Vampire Diaries, but this is such an emotional and beautiful video that I couldn't help but share it. Besides, Tina is also one of my favourite YT fanvidders out there.

Favourite Sitcoms

I love watching movies and TV-series, you must know by now, and sitcoms are no exception to that. One of the Dutch television channels always airs sitcoms during the weekdays from about 6 PM to 8:30 PM, absolutely lovely to me. The series change now and then which is nice as well. So let me below list my favourite sitcoms out there (even though not all of them are regularly on TV anymore or stopped making new episodes). Let me know what your guys favourites are!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S
The first season introduces the six main characters: Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross. Rachel arrives at Central Perk after running away from her wedding to her fiancé Barry and moves into her best friend from high school's (Monica’s) apartment with her. Ross, who had a crush on Rachel since high school, constantly tries to tell Rachel that he loves her, while his lesbian ex-wife, Carol, is expecting his baby. Joey is shown to be a bachelor and struggling actor, while Phoebe works as a masseuse. Chandler breaks up with girlfriend Janice who frequently returns in later seasons.

Favourite Fanvideos: People Help The People

As I watch a lot of fanvideos on Youtube all of the time, I thought it would be nice to now and then share some of my favourites with you guys. I'll try and vary them a little, but I have to admit quite a big deal will be Vampire Diaries related I guess.

Top Gear: It is not just about cars

I honestly get weird looks most of the time when I admit to love Top Gear. You know, the combination of a girl loving a show that is about cars, just doesn't seem right...And honestly admitted, I'm definately not the biggest car fan out there. Half of the time I have no clue on all those technical aspects of the cars, but yes, I still utterly love to watch this show.

Surely it is about cars and you'll need to like cars a little to make it to the end of the show, but besides cars it is also great comedy. The humour of the three hosts -Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May- is just amazingly good. They always do, what they call, challenges and those are the most hilarious out there. Think for example of making a car into a limosine, building their own caravan or playing car darts. They also do large challenges which are somewhere around the world (for example USA, Bolivia, Middle East, Vietnam and the Polar).

One of my favourite challenges has to be the one in Botswana (can be viewed here and here) (Richard & Oliver, anyone?), though the Boliva special was real fun as well to watch. But then again so was the USA, Polar...right I could just name them all. Any of you that watch Top Gear just like me?

Friends, Movies & Snow

Photo shot on 10-02-2013
Last weekend (friday, saturday, sunday) I spend the weekend over at a friend's house, at Annelie. Hence, the reason why my blog was a little quiet over the past weekend. Anyway, it was a lovely weekend, one for the simple reason that we don't see each other that often and two because we are just two utterly crazy (fan)girls when we're together.

Now what did we do over the weekend? First thing that had to be done was catching up on the newest episode of The Vampire Diaries, but unlike last time that she came over to me, we didn't actually linger the rest of the weekend on TVD episodes ;). But we did spend a good time on watching movies, namely Pitch Perfect, Hugo and Angels Crest (Reviews to be expected soon). Furthermore we went into town, where I only bought one book, nothing more, wooh! We also shot a couple of photos for new blog posts for both of our blogs, so stay tuned.

All and all it was a really lovely weekend, and a great start for my one week holidays, before my new semester starts on the 18th again. As for the snow part. A little less happy about the foresight of having a lot of snow again, but it turned out to be less snow than predicted at least.

My love for TV/Movie related jewelry

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to TV-series/movies, admitted, nothing wrong with that right? And with that love for series and movies comes a love for merchandise of it. I'm not a fan of the screaming t-shirts (well as a sleeping shirt maybe yes) and the like, more the subtle things of which I know what it is and those who know the show/movie will know it as well, but it won't be screaming to the rest of the world: look what I love! There is nothing wrong with people that do love it, don't get me wrong, it is just not my kind of thing.

As the title of this post already betrayed, I do love jewelry that has something to do with TV-series or movies that I love, so here is the blogpost of me showing you guys the (still a little small) collection. (Sorry for the photos, I'm not good with making photos when I only have artificial light)

A must see for everyone: Ben Hur

Ben Hur is a gut-wrenching, action-packed drama about the struggle between the Roman Empire and its occupied territory, Judaea. Two lifelong friends, Ben Hur and Messala, are caught in an awful moment of history that puts them on opposite sides of a war for Judaea’s national identity - and tests their characters to the maximum.
Those who know me a little and recognize him from the DVD cover above, will know why I initially have watched Ben Hur, but believe me there is more to it.

I watched the Mini Serie of Ben Hur somewhere during my internship in London last year, after Annelie recommended it to me. And recently I've watched it again. Like I said, the first reason for me to watch, was that the lead role is for Joseph Morgan and as a fan of his acting I was curious to see it. I have to admit, Joseph did an amazing job in playing Judah Ben Hur. He played out the passion, loss, pain, revange, love, the many emotions that come by in a very touching way. Further also a lot of praise for Emily VanCamp and Ray Winstone in particular, but for the other actors as well.

For those who might wonder if it is to cruel to watch, I thought it wasn't and I can't stand cruelty all too well. The scenes are there yes, but they are either screened in such a way that you don't actually see it or it isn't put out there in such a detail, however, still the cruelty of what was going on in the Roman Empire is still there. It didn't comprise on making it prettier than it was.

The only real minor point for me was the ending, I won't go into detail why that was dissapointing you will have to see it for yourself, but that was the only thing that didn't do it for me. Furthermore, beautiful and haunting story at the same time and portraited by amazing actors.

Did anyone of you see it before or is planning on seeing it some time?

My weekend in photos

Warning: A lot of hot guys ahead ;)

So on friday we (Annelie and I) started with rewatching a couple of 'The Vampire Diaries' episodes from Season 2, and guess who appeared there...

Excuse me, to whom it may concern, you’re making a great mistake if you think that you can beat me. You can’t.

We've had a couple of episodes of Season 2, and then headed over to Season 3 the next day for this mighty fine guy...
...and this one...wait same one, just flashback...

...and this one...

...and for these two...

 ...and these two...
...yeaah mostly these two...
p.s. I swear we did other things as well during the weekend, like window shopping and nails, but that's for next blog, for now I will just resume staring at the mighty fineness above ;)

Spotlight: Saving Hope

It's time for the second spotlight, and this time it goes to my current favourite tv serie Saving Hope.

I have to admit it has been a while since I've been following a  hospital TV show. I have never actually seen Grey's Anatomy (which I might have regretted at one point, but I can't be bothered to catch up anymore) and I have never seen more than a couple of episodes of House. I did like ER, though I didn't see that show until like the 10th reruns on television. I did really like 'Strong Medicine' but they only kept showing the same episodes over and over on television, really annoying.
In SAVING HOPE, when charismatic Chief of Surgery Charlie Harris  at Torontos Hope-Zion Hospital ends up in a coma, he leaves the hospital in chaos and his fiancée and fellow surgeon, Alex Reid, in a state of shock. Along with newly-arrived star surgeon, Joel Goran , Alex races to save Harris life. As the action unfolds, comatose Dr. Harris wanders the halls of Hope-Zee in spirit form, not sure if hes a ghost or a figment of his own imagination. Reid, along with her fellow doctors, press on to save his life and those of their other patients, as they deal with the complicated and courageous decisions that are made in their daily struggle to keep hope alive.
I started watching the series, because Daniel Gillies is in it, otherwise I might not even have ever heard about the series. I have to admit that Daniel is pretty awesome it in (and looks good too!). His character Joel can be a total ass now and then, but that kind of makes me like the character so much. He is the typical kind of surgeon every tv serie needs.

And yes I do like the series further as well, not only because of Daniel. The difference from this serie with other series is that they took a little paranormal in it as well, with the out of body experience from Charlie. It might make it less realistic, maybe it is something that really happens, who knows, I like the extra addition and the different look you sometimes get from it on whatever the doctors are doing as Charlie will explain it.

I have to warn, they really do not cover up wounds it the series, you get most of the time, full shots of every growse wound, but I'm really not the best with wounds and all and I can stand it as well so that counts for something at least.

Have you seen the show, planning on seeing it?

Spotlight: Video Artist xXWhisperOfDreamsXx

As you can see at the top of this blog, a new page has been added, namely 'Spotlight'. Very regularly I'll put something or someone (blog, author, book, movie, whatever I can think of) in the Spotlight, just because I love it so much.

The first spotlight is reserved for a YT fanvid artist that I absolutely adore. I'm sure that by now you know that I am a huge fan of the tv serie 'The Vampire Diaries' and this artist just makes the most incredible fanvids (and luckily for me a lot of them are from my favourite ships/chars). The artist I'm talking about is xXWhisperOfDreamsXx and if you have never seen any of her work, please have a look because it is absolutely amazing. Some of her vids have manips in them, which are just perfect.

I'll list a top 5 of my favourite vids below here (which is an almost impossible job for me to choose), but she has many more.

This fanvid has some amazing manips in it and the song fits the video so incredibly well, I love the song mainly because of this fanvid.

Stelena? Yeaah sorry for the Delena's around here, but she has some awesome Delena vids as well ;) This song is just perfect for Stefan/Elena, and she used 'Kiss me' from Ed Sheeran just beautifully.

Klaus and Rebekah just have an incredibly beautiful and complicated brother/sister relationship, which has been visualised in this vid, again the song just fits all the images in it so well.

Again Klaus/Caroline, yes sorry for that, but most of her vids are Klaroline related and again this video is just a perfect combination again of the song and the images that are shown in the fanvid.

This last one is more general of The Vampire Diaries and shows a lot of (friend)ships all together, very beautifully put together again, I know I'm repeating myself over and over, but that is just how I feel with all her videos.

She has some non-TVD videos as well. There are some of Twilight and of 'Hart of Dixie' as well. Hope you guys enjoyed this first Spotlight post and maybe love her vids just as much as I do and subscribe to her channel.

Delena, Stelena... Klaroline?

Alrigh, so as promised I'll try to keep this blog as up to date as possible and try to keep it interesting at the same time, so even though I have still some books lined up to be reviewed, I will not only keep doing that, because you guys must get bored at one point of that I guess.

In my first post I asked if you guys wanted to read some drabbles of mine and I got possitive comments on that, so let's do it (you can always so NO still if you do not like it at all, haha). I will do some 'Vampire Diaries' drabbles to start of with as I got requests for those. Klaroline (Klaus & Caroline) and Delena (Damon & Elena) seemed to be favourite for drabbles, so I'll do those combined with a little Stelena (sorry, I'm more of a Stefan person). I won't make it real stories, but some follow up sequences. Let me know if you like them (or not) and if you want to read more ;)

Just to be sure, I do not own any of the characters mentioned below in the drabbles, neither the parts that are based on the real TV Serie.

Stelena/Delena (Team Salvatore?)
I let the story drabbles happen somewhere during S3 of the actual serie, but the events may be different or in a different order.
'Stefan?' Elena whispered quietly when she saw Stefan. She knew she wouldn't have much time until Damon would come out of the bar again, or until Klaus would interrupt them and that for sure couldn't happen, because then he would know she was still alive.
Stefan turned when hearing the so known sound of Elena's voice. Everything inside him felt twisted when he looked at the girl he loved so intensely. He could feel himself lighten up for a moment, but that all dissapeared again with the same pace it had came.
'You shouldn't be here Elena.' His voice was hard and stern. He believed every single word he said, though he didn't want it to be true. Klaus couldn't find out she was here or she would die and he had promised her over and over to do everything to keep her safe. Though all these words didn't seem to come out.
Elena rushed over to Stefan. She didn't care what he was saying, she wanted him to come back home. She walked over to him, leaning in and kissing him.
Stefan had the feeling everything bursted inside him, but mind took over heart and pushed Elena of him. 'You shouldn't be here.' He said harsh, keeping her off. He could almost feel all the pain that he caused her, but it was for the better. 'Now go back home with Damon and stay there.' He turned around and walked off, hearing Elena starting to sob behind him.

'Elena?' Damon walked into the living room from the Salvatore mansion. It was about three o'clock at night and he had been sure Elena had gone off to bed, but now he heard her downstairs. Elena looked up to him, her eyes all puffy.
'He isn't coming back, is he?' Elena asked Damon, referring to Stefan. She hadn't able to sleep since the moment Stefan had walked out on her, neither had she stopped crying, even though tears had stopped flowing a while ago. 'He has to come back.' She added in a whisper.
Damon walked over to Elena. He wanted to take her in his arms and comfort her, but getting comfort from the brother of the one she was crying over wasn't really going to help the case, he knew that much.
'I'm going to do everything in my power to get my little brother back, Elena.' He reassured her. I would do it all of it, for him, but most surely for you as well Elena.
Elena smiled a little, faint smile, but it was the most she had done as much as smiling in the past time. 'Thank you.' She whispered to Damon.

Klaroline (Goo... Originals!)'I really do not know what to wear.' Rebekah exclaimed as she showed of the million dress in front of Klaus. 'They really do not have proper clothes that suit a party thrown with a theme of the 1920's, where has the style of all these women gone off to.' Klaus rolled his eyes, only half paying attention to his sister, while he sipped champagne, waiting for her to be ready.
'Just pick something, sister love.' He said, without looking up. 'I'm sure you will look dashing as always.' Rebekah grunted a little and walked over to her brother.
'Don't be like that, Nik. I'm pretty sure if this was about a dress for that Caroline girl you seem to chase, you would be all ears and eyes.' Rebekah didn't like Caroline at all and the new interest from her brother for her, was even less to her likes. That girl was ruining her family.
'Don't be such a mood killer, sister.' Klaus said, badly wanting to change the subject. 'Today was going to be a day for siblings, as you wanted so badly.' He said and saw Rebekah smile a little, knowing he had succeeded as much as was necessary. When Rebekah returned back to fitting more dresses, Klaus got up and went to the counter where he made sure the dress was send out today, that was meant for Caroline, together with the hand written note, that asked her to save some time for him tonight.

Did you guys liked it, hated it? Should I never do this ever again? Any requests from 'The Vampire Diaries' or other series/movies/books? Let me know in the comments!
