Book Review #12: Medusa, A love story

It's said love can change a person. Medusa wasn't always a monster...
Medusa is ruled by duty, to her Titan father and the Goddess Athena. She's no room for the tenderness her warrior guard, Ariston, stirs. When Olympus frees her from service, her heart leads her into the arms of the guard she loves... and curses her as the creature with serpent locks.
Ariston goes to war with a full heart... and dreadful foreboding. He learns too late of the danger Medusa faces, alone, and a Persian blade sends him into the Underworld. But death, curses, nor the wrath of the Gods will keep him from returning to her.
Poseidon will use Greece's war to get what he wants: Medusa. He does not care that she belongs to another. He does not care that she will be damned. He is a God, an Olympian, and she will be his.

For everyone who love the Greek myths: Make sure to read on, it will get you hooked! (And the review is spoiler-free)

Nailpolish collection: OPI

Only since a little more than a  year ago I started to actively use nailpolish. I had some nailpolish before, but hardly ever used it or just used transparent nailpolish. I never really used any colours. But with buying my first OPI nail polish that absolutely changed. Let me show you the colours I've collected by now of this gorgeous brand.

Movie Review: Angels Crest

Angels Crest is a community at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, where local news is rarely interesting and nearly everyone knows one another. Ethan is a young man in his early twenties who was once involved with Cindy; it's common knowledge that Cindy has a serious drinking problem, and the responsibility of looking after their three-year-old son usually falls to Ethan. While out on a fishing trip on a snowy day, Ethan leaves the boy alone in his car for a few minutes; when Ethan returns, his son has somehow gotten away.

Top Gear: It is not just about cars

I honestly get weird looks most of the time when I admit to love Top Gear. You know, the combination of a girl loving a show that is about cars, just doesn't seem right...And honestly admitted, I'm definately not the biggest car fan out there. Half of the time I have no clue on all those technical aspects of the cars, but yes, I still utterly love to watch this show.

Surely it is about cars and you'll need to like cars a little to make it to the end of the show, but besides cars it is also great comedy. The humour of the three hosts -Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May- is just amazingly good. They always do, what they call, challenges and those are the most hilarious out there. Think for example of making a car into a limosine, building their own caravan or playing car darts. They also do large challenges which are somewhere around the world (for example USA, Bolivia, Middle East, Vietnam and the Polar).

One of my favourite challenges has to be the one in Botswana (can be viewed here and here) (Richard & Oliver, anyone?), though the Boliva special was real fun as well to watch. But then again so was the USA, Polar...right I could just name them all. Any of you that watch Top Gear just like me?

Friends, Movies & Snow

Photo shot on 10-02-2013
Last weekend (friday, saturday, sunday) I spend the weekend over at a friend's house, at Annelie. Hence, the reason why my blog was a little quiet over the past weekend. Anyway, it was a lovely weekend, one for the simple reason that we don't see each other that often and two because we are just two utterly crazy (fan)girls when we're together.

Now what did we do over the weekend? First thing that had to be done was catching up on the newest episode of The Vampire Diaries, but unlike last time that she came over to me, we didn't actually linger the rest of the weekend on TVD episodes ;). But we did spend a good time on watching movies, namely Pitch Perfect, Hugo and Angels Crest (Reviews to be expected soon). Furthermore we went into town, where I only bought one book, nothing more, wooh! We also shot a couple of photos for new blog posts for both of our blogs, so stay tuned.

All and all it was a really lovely weekend, and a great start for my one week holidays, before my new semester starts on the 18th again. As for the snow part. A little less happy about the foresight of having a lot of snow again, but it turned out to be less snow than predicted at least.

BAFTA's 2013

The BAFTA's 2013 were awarded last night, and it just deserved a blog. I had hoped to see a few more movies actually of the BAFTA's nominees, but hardly succeeded due to not enough time or simply because the movies aren't shown here in the theaters yet. I'm desperate to see 'Silver Linings Playbook', 'Life of Pi' and 'Anna Karenina'. The first one is still not out here in cinema, the latter two are, but unfortunately I still haven't seen them (Anyone in for movies any time soon?). And now that I know that all three actually won BAFTA's, I want to see them even more desperately. I did see 'Les Misérables' (Review here) though, and I have to say the awards are more than deserved!

Besides the actual awards, I always love to browse through pictures of arrivals afterwards to have a look at all the dresses that were worn for the show. Show let's talk fashion, shall we? Here are a few of my favourites. Any personal favorites of any of you?

"Be the Change you wish to see in the World" –Ghandi
Your Zen Life was set up by Teresa Palmerand Phoebe Tonkin, the latter is who I got to know the site. Phoebe is most known for her roles in H2O: Just Add Water, The Secret Circle and The Vampire Diaries. She launched the site with Teresa a few months back and I've been following it very regularly ever since.

The site has a great collection on articles on a variety of topics from healthy recipes (whether for yourself and/or the nature) to tips on excercising to more spiritual topics on the mind and soul. The site has some amazingly inspiring articles. For myself, I like the "nourish" and "move" section the most, but some of the more spiritual articles are really nice to read as well.

Did any of you knew the site before? Ever visited it? If not, make sure to have a look here. I'm sure that it can have some nice articles for a lot of you out there!

January Recap - Your opinion needed

January has been the best month for me so far concerning blogging! 22 posts in total, which is the most I've had so far in a month on this blog. Several different topics have come by and I wanted to take the time to ask you guys which kind of posts you like/prefer, or maybe not interested for you (personally). In first instance I blog cause I absolutely love to do it, but it's always nice to know that those who read it actually like it ;)

The topics that have come by:
-Book blogs (Reviews/Wishlist/Cover Reveal)
-Writing blogs (My writing & Guest Author post)
-Fashion (My style/Wishlist)
-Those things you get to know because of celebrities (Example)
-Movies/TV series (Inspired jewelry/Recommendations/Reviews/Trailers)
-Travelling (Cities/Countries I've visited)
-Music (Favourite music pieces)
-Quote of the Day

I would love to hear of the above what your favourites are or what is just not your cup of tea, maybe. For a few I've already decided I want to do more of them anyway and I want to keep a bit of variety in the blog as well, but I would love to hear what you guys like.

Furter, I would like to pitch a new idea for the blog, but I'm doubting if their would be interest for it. I'm a quite vivid writer, or at least I like to write. I'm currently actually writing a book, or book-to-be, or whatever someone might want to call it. The idea was to do a weekly or once every two weeks a post about writing. Either tips on writing, or maybe a small blurb from what I'm currently writing or just what I wrote for something else. I know I've done some of this already and it seemed as it was received with some enthusiasm. Let me know if you guys might be interested yes or no.
